THE VISION OF HIS GLORY

ON-DEMAND VIDEO BIBLE STUDY

Without question, you and I are living in a rapidly changing world.

The book of Revelation was written to help Christians who are experiencing pressure and problems, stress and suffering, crisis and change, to keep their focus on Jesus at such a time as this. Based on the book by the same title, The Vision of His Glory is a seven-session video seminar on DVD that is ideal for small group studies at your church or home.

In the first session, Anne leads a workshop that teaches participants how to listen to God’s voice speak through His Word. This workshop prepares viewers for the remaining six sessions involving personal study using a workbook, followed by small group discussion. Each one-hour video message, which Anne filmed at The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove, then serves to summarize the unit.

Often, in the midst of great problems, we stop short of the real blessing God has for us, which is a fresh vision of who He is.

This book was not what I expected. I thought it would be an interpretation of how end times would play out based on the book of Revelation. It is not that at all. This book looks at Jesus as He is presented in the book of Revelation – particularly through the eyes of John during his exile on Patmos. Rather than looking outward at the world around us, this book has us looking inward, at our own spiritual condition. It reads more like a devotional – convicting, challenging and reassuring, shaping a right perspective based on Scripture. Anne’s writing helped me identify spiritual deficits I had ignored or denied. It was a wake up call to get my spiritual act together and remember my “First Love,” but not in a way that was threatening or shaming. Her words brought inspiration and encouragement along with self reflection. And I so appreciated them. I think this is a beautiful book to pass along to a friend who may be struggling with their faith or walking a difficult journey. And it’s one to keep on your own bookshelf for the same reason. Highly recommend. 5 Stars.

What I like so far with this book is that it is really accessible. She isn’t throwing around a lot of language that I struggle to really understand. This is very readable. She gives memorable and relevant little stories throughout the chapters, and those never leave me scratching my head, trying to figure out why they are there.
I love that it is really easy to figure out which portion of Revelation to read for each chapter. One note I feel is important is that the reading is not evenly split up at all. The first two chapters cover Revelation 1 (8 verses in chapter 1, the rest in chapter 2). The next couple chapters have you reading small chunks of Revelation 2 and 3 (I included a photo of the first page of chapter 3). Chapters 5 and 6 have you reading a complete chapter of Revelation each. And then in chapter 7, you are reading Revelation 6-12. I don’t have a problem with this, but I thought it was good to know.
