Hallelujah!

December 27, 2016

Hallelujah!  For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory.
Revelation 19:6-7

Christmas Day has passed.  But Christmas goes on, doesn’t it?  The glory of God and praise of His Son that reverberated in the night sky outside of Bethlehem so long ago continues to fill our hearts.

I first heard the following song of praise on a radio talk show before Christmas.  I meant to share it with you then, but in the busyness of the day, I forgot.  So thank you, dear Maudie Verzosa, for forwarding this link that reminded me to forward it to all of you.

How Will America Heal?

November 9, 2016

And David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that his kingdom had been highly exalted for the sake of his people Israel.  1 Chronicles 14:2

God has established Mr. Trump as the 45th President of the United States…for the sake of the American people. God has kept the first part of His promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14…If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin and will heal their land.

It’s Time To Take A Stand!

October 13, 2016

…When the day of evil comes…stand your ground, and after you have done everything… stand. Stand firm then… Ephesians 6:13-14

It’s breath-catching, heart-breaking, and soul-searing to watch our nation implode morally and spiritually. The mental picture of the Twin Towers on 9/11 collapsing in a cloud of debris and dust comes to my mind as I pray for America.

It is not buildings that are collapsing today. It is us — our nation.

What can God’s people do?

Remembering 9/11

September 12, 2016

…All this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to Your truth.  Daniel 9:13

As I look back on 9/11, I vividly remember—in fact, I will never forget—watching that awful day of terror unfold on my television screen. Viewing the destruction, I embarked on a roller coaster of emotions, weeping for days in horror as I listened to the stories of death and loss and inconsolable grief.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26

One year ago today my family was joined by approximately 1500 friends as we celebrated the life and legacy of my husband of forty-nine years, Danny Lotz. It was an unforgettable service that honored my husband and brought glory to God. Every day I meet people who were either physically present or who watched the live-stream online. The comment I get most often is one that I heard again this past Sunday, “Anne, I’ve never felt such an overwhelming sense of the presence of God as I did during that service. I could have sat and listened for hours.”

As I reflect on all that took place one year ago—including discovering Danny unresponsive in our pool, to the decision made in the ER to put him on life support, to the decision two days later to take him off life support, to the planning and then the executing of his celebration service, to the burial the next day, to my life now as a widow—the verse that brings me the most comfort at present is Philippians 1:21…For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. While I’m not sure of all that is involved in the “gain”, I know one thing that it means is that Danny is better off today than he was a year ago. And the primary reason he is better off is that he is at home with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)

Flowers left by my children and grandchildren on August 19, 2016

Thank you for your thoughts, your prayers, and your many emails, texts, posts, and cards expressing your support. As a result, God has given me one blessing after another—blessings that are carrying me through as I make it my goal to please Him. (2 Corinthians 5:9)
