“If the focus of your life is off-if it is anything other than pleasing and glorifying God-then the light within you is darkness!” (The Daniel Key, Chapter 13)
PRAY WITH ME
Beloved Lord Jesus of Nazareth,
We worship You as One who set Your face “like a flint” (Isaiah 50:7 nkjv). You remained focused on Your Father’s will until You completed it (John 17:4). We have heard Your victory shout reverberate from the Cross, “It is finished!” (John 19:30 nkjv). We know Your victory was not an accident. You achieved it because You lived Your life every moment— twentyfour, seven— intentionally focused on how You spent Your time, the words You spoke, the people You were with, the places You went. As a result, Your Father was glorified (John 17:4)!
Your Word challenges us, as Your followers, to “ fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him . . .” (Hebrews 12:2–3). You are the One with eyes of omniscience who looked down the centuries until Your focus rested on me. I was the “ joy” that helped You endure the Cross that my sin made necessary.
Please, take my face in Your hands. Turn my eyes upon You. Keep me focused on You in all that I say and do until my focus becomes crystal clear when my faith becomes sight and I see You face- to- face.
For the glory of Your great name,
Amen.
