But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16
…A little child shall lead them. Isaiah 11:6
The world was shocked and grieved to learn of the tragic and untimely death of Kobe Bryant on January 26. For sports fans, his death was on the level of Princess Diana’s death. Something that was unbelievable. Impossible. Like a nightmare we kept waiting to wake up from.
While I shared in the grief as so many others did, my youngest granddaughter, Riggin, was hit especially hard. She couldn’t stop weeping. Not just for Kobe, but for his beautiful thirteen-year-old daughter, Gianna. As she gazed at the beautiful pictures of father and daughter together, she mourned for his other children, and for children across the country who need a loving father.
God’s timing is so perfect. Riggin, who is also thirteen years old, had been memorizing my children’s book, Heaven: God’s Promise for Me, to recite for a school project. Because it brought her comfort, I asked her to recite it again, this time for you.
Please pass it (https://vimeo.com/388554133) on to every child you know. Especially thirteen-year-olds.
