While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground…I opened my mouth and began to speak…Daniel 10:15, 16
Do you find yourself wishing that God would speak audibly to you like He did with people in the Bible? He spoke to the prophets, the priests, the kings, the elderly, the apostles, the early church, and even to young children like little Samuel. Sometimes, He spoke to the enemies of His people. But whenever He spoke, His voice was so clear to the person listening that there was no mistaking what He had said. How can you hear God’s voice today?
While God can speak anyway He chooses, He speaks to me through His Word. So on May 26th through June 4th, I am going to be listening to God’s Word. Join me for 40 minutes each day, for ten days, as we embark on a journey together, listening to what God has to say.
Following our ten days of listening to what God has to say, I then invite you to join me for The Daniel Prayer online Bible study that begins June 11th. The pattern is based on something my mother taught me as I was growing up: “Anne, listen before you speak.” I am taking her instruction to a new level and applying it to our relationship with God. After listening to what He says, this study will encourage us to then speak to Him about it. Because one key to effective is to listen to God speak, then pray in response to what He has said. It’s been called “reversed thunder”— praying God’s Word back to Him.
So . . . God is speaking! Let’s rise up and listen to what He has to say. Then fall down on our knees as together we learn to pray so effectively that Heaven is moved and our prayers are answered!
